Nutrition

This is a vital aspect of The Anti-Diet Lifestyle.  As you progress through your journey, you will hopefully, naturally even progress to this stage and, if not, you will need to mindfully and purposefully walk on this path.  It’s a must because to truly love yourself, you need to be wholly committed to your long-term wellness.  For me it was a slow process because I only valued highly processed, low nutrition foods.  I didn’t feel that I had eaten unless I ate what many people refer to as ‘junk’ food.  Calling it this is against The Anti-Diet Lifestyle’s approach because labeling things ‘good’ or ‘bad’ is for diets not anti-diets!!

The path to well-being is not always easy but, with persistence, perseverance and action it can be done.  The good news is that once you’re on your way, it becomes easy, enjoyable even.  The key to this (as to anything in life) is balance.  Do not worry, you do not have to force or pressurise yourself, you only have to simply place yourself on the road to nutrition and start taking one baby step after the other.

So, what does this mean and what do you need to do?

What it means

In short, it means you will become aware of what you put inside of your body.  This includes not only food but also what you see, hear, read and watch!  The Anti-Diet is not preaching here, it is just guiding you through a process that will end with you becoming the very best version of you!

 What you need to do

Research nutrition

Find fruits and vegetables that you love

Add fruits and vegetables to your food

Add spices known for their health benefits to your food

Read life affirming articles, books, quotes

Spend time in nature (or places that are beautiful to you i.e. a bustling city, a beautiful church etc)

Surround yourself with as many positive people as possible

Watch as many motivational/life affirming videos, TV programs, films etc.

Say positive things to yourself (I am beautiful just as I am, I can do this, I look great in this etc)

Consider supplements such as vitamins and minerals

What you need to stop or at least restrict

Negative people

Negative situations

Dieting magazines

Dieting articles

Images of yourself that you do not like

Clothes that do not fit you (too big or too small)

Saying negative things to yourself (I’m fat, I’m ugly, I’m a failure etc)

N.B. The above advice should be considered in tandem with your own personal situation.  For example, if you are allergic to any ingredient or ‘thing’, you need to avoid it even if it has been suggested by The Anti-Diet Lifestyle.
